About Anna Maxin
Anna Maxin made Austin her home after graduating from Texas State University. With a successful career in marketing, she decided to take on the challenge of creating fashionable, unique jewelry for football season - her husband is a dedicated football fan and graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and they are both members of Shotgun 30. In her spare time she began learning the craft of jewelry making and designing accessories for the 2007 football season. What started as orange quickly turned to everyday wear as the palate of colors extended to meet the custom needs of her customers.
For Anna, jewelry design was only the beginning. The inspiration for all things that sparkle brought about hand set crystal embellished flip flops, which in turn led to the hand sewn shoe bags her customers receive with every purchase. Finally, there was the creation of Biscuit & Gravy dog collars in the Summer of 2008. The brand, named for Maxin's two boxers, takes style to the necks of our four-legged companions.
Anna Maxin Signature Style
"My jewelry and accessories are stylish and unique. All my jewelry is feminine and wearable – sometimes you even forget you’re wearing it because it’s light and comfortable, that is until you get a complement. I love how the simple addition of a piece of jewelry can take a t-shirt and jeans from okay to oh yeah. And it might sound funny to non-dog lovers, but since a collar is the only accessory my dogs wear I expect it to be as fabulous as they are."
Her Inspiration
"Inspiration is everywhere if you listen and act upon it. I know that sounds all too cliché but for years I’ve found myself saying “it can’t be hard to make that”, “why isn’t someone making ___” or “I could learn to make that”. And I finally just took the leap and did it. It took yet another football season going by of looking like everyone else at Texas® games to push me over the edge."
Her Aspiration
“My customers want “fabulous” products and they don’t want to settle for the average, everyday alternative. My goal is to create products that elicit individual style and keep you from looking like the rest of the crowd or pack."
